Happy Black History Month!

As we should, our community traditionally honors the achievements and stories of our Black leaders of the past — the elders and dearly departed who have committed their lives for change. If we forget the past, our future lacks direction. However, we often overlook the present — the young creators, change makers, rule-breakers, and disruptors that are alive and well, adding chapters to our history books as we speak. For the next 28 Days, my Medium page will pay homage to the people who inspire me everyday, as I rise from the pathway paved and create from their legacy. My heroes, “she-roes,” and everyone in between. These short tributes will be published every Tuesday and Friday morning PST in 3 to 4 day blocks, respective to the days that follow. The perk of following this writing series? You’ll get some great hyperlinked media recommendations to consume throughout year 3 of the pandemic because all we got is time these days!

Checkout PART 2 of my live writing series for the final 14 days of the month.
